A Time for
Special Recognitions
While the start of a new school year is an often hectic time, San Benito County Office of Education employees managed to find a little quiet time for some special recognition.
In what has become a traditional beginning to each school year, COE staff members have a pre-service day to go over any upcoming issues and to recognize each other for the hard work that they do. As part of this, County Superintendent Tim Foley and the SBCOE Board of Education recently honored 10 members of the COE’s staff for years of service.
Story continued below. |
“It is such a privilege to be able to have an opportunity such as this to recognize the loyalty to the industry, the loyalty to their teammates that our staff has shown,” Foley said. “To be able to take time out to pay tribute to them is truly an honor.”
Out of the 10 service awards given this year, one in particular stood out. Kathy Stewart, Tim’s administrative assistant and the COE’s office manager, was honored for 35 years of service, a mark Foley calls “amazing.”
“Kathy makes my job much easier. She is really something special and this milestone is incredible,” he said. “Kathy sets the tone for the office, with a steady hand, her tremendous organizational skills, and her always pleasant manner. Those traits make it easy for the staff and public to interact with her, and make it enjoyable to work with her.”
