Have a question about your child’s education, but don’t know who to ask? Or maybe you do know who to ask, but can’t quite figure out how to get in touch with them?

A limited supply of the 2005-06 San Benito County School Directory are now available at the County Office of Education, providing the public with an invaluable resource to reach out to local educators and school officials.
The School Directory contains the names and telephone numbers of board members for each of the 11 districts in San Benito County, as well as the Gavilan College Joint Board of Trustees and the trustees for the San Benito County Office of Education. The directory also has listings for each district, including addresses, telephone and fax numbers and website addresses. This information also includes the names of and telephone numbers for district superintendents, other school administrators at larger schools such as business managers, supervisors of special programs within in the district and even maintenance and facility contact information.
Additionally, within every district listing is information for each individual school, including addresses, principal and vice-principal names and telephone numbers, website information and supervisors of special programs operating solely at a particular school.
Included in the directory are staff listings and telephone numbers for each of the four county operated schools, such as San Andreas Continuation High School or Pinnacles Community/Court Schools.
Also included in the directory is information about the SBCOE itself, including contact information for the different department heads within the county office, its website with links to services such as fingerprinting and job searches as well as how to reach County Superintendent Tim Foley and his assistant.
SBCOE staff is currently packaging copies of the directory to be sent out to all of the districts, according to Kathy Stewart, SBCOE administrative assistant/office manager.
“We make the directories available to anyone who is listed in it,” Stewart said. “Each district gets a supply, and we try to make sure there are enough for the office staff, and all of the teachers if possible, to get a copy.”
While each school generally provides parents with a handbook at the beginning of every school year, Stewart says having a copy of the directory may make it easier for parents to reach local education officials.
“If a parent has students at several districts, this is a really great way to keep all the numbers handy,” she said.
