The County Board of Education is the policy making body of the San Benito County Office of Education. The Board includes five persons elected from five supervisorial districts representing all geographical areas of the county.

Board Responsibilities include:

  • Budget approval
  • Policy development
  • Expulsion appeal
  • Inter district appeal
  • Credential registration
  • Instructional material adoption
  • Program acceptance for state and federal projects

Meetings are at 6:00 p.m. in the Board Room, 460 Fifth Street, Hollister.

All regular business meetings have been scheduled for the second Thursday of each month except in August, September, November, April and June. The August meeting has been scheduled for the third Thursday, so that your meeting is held the week that school begins, with the regular September meeting being held on the first Thursday, and a special meeting in September on the fourth Thursday, in order to assist the school districts in processing applicants for Temporary County Certificates. The November meeting will be held on the third Thursday due to Veteran's Day holiday scheduled during the second week in November. The April meeting is scheduled to be held on the first Thursday because Spring Break falls on during the second week of April. The regular June meeting has been scheduled for the first Thursday so as not to conflict with the various graduation activities planned throughtout the county. Also, a special meeting will be held on June 28, if needed, to allow processing Temporary County Certificates for teachers who work in the summer school program.

 

2009 San Benito Countywide Plan for Expelled Students

The San Benito County Superintendent of Schools, in conjunction with the superintendents of schools within the county, has developed this plan for providing educational services to all expelled students in San Benito County.
